HIV/AIDS & Prevention Services

ABOUT

HIV/AIDS & Prevention Services apply a harm reduction philosophy, a non-judgmental approach that views HIV as a greater threat than substance abuse, and prioritizes reducing the risk of transmission instead of focusing exclusively on abstinence from drugs. A user is not expected to embrace a goal of abstinence in order to receive services.

Our specialized programs are run by professionals who have undergone extensive training in HIV, addiction, and personal safety issues, as well as in procedures for exposure to blood-borne pathogens and disposal of hazardous waste.

You may receive HIV counseling and testing from one of our clinics or, if you meet certain criteria, a prevention program, such as the Needle Exchange or La Voz. For information about HIV counseling and testing, click here. Please call (413) 586-2016 to learn more about programs under HIV/AIDS and Prevention Services.
